#LocalBrandsSnapshot is a column to introduce homegrown brands, labels, and entrepreneurs that are worth mentioning. Readers’ suggestions are welcomed. Write to us at admin@zom-in.com if you want to recommend your favourite homegrown brands.

There’s no denying that modest fashion is a blooming market not only in Malaysia, but across the world. Hijabs, in particular, are no longer just a headscarf—they're a fashion statement. Here are the top Malaysian Hijab brands you can shop from for the upcoming Raya.

dUCk

Established by FashionValet’s Vivy Yusof back in 2014, dUCk has quickly become one of the most sought-after Hijab brands in Malaysia. From basics to printed to limited edition collections, dUCK offers various designs of hijab and other fashion garments.

Naelofa

Previously we’ve done a survey on our Instagram account to ask our users who’s their favourite celebrity. Over 50% of the respondents answered Neelofa. Besides getting lots of love, Neelofa has also been making waves internationally during her Fashion Week appearances too. Thus, her original label—Naelofar is worth checking out if you’re searching for something new for this Raya.

Cakenis

Cakenis is another celeb-founded brand. It is the brainchild of Malaysian actress Hanis Zalikha and her husband, actor Hairul Azreen. Although you can find other fashion products including apparel and bags on its site, headscarves remain its bread and butter. This label only sells instant hijabs with a “brooch-less, just-hook feature” that is easy and fuss-free.

These labels are not only gaining likes from Malaysia but are also receiving love from shoppers around the globe. Where do you usually shop for your hijab? Let’s shout your favourite hijab label in the comment section!
